Method and limits
Envelope gain uses Q = U·A·ΔT. Ventilation sensible gain uses ρ·cp·V̇·ΔT with air density 1.2 kg/m³ and cp 1005 J/kg·K. Occupants use a simple 130 W/person allowance. This is a preliminary estimator only: final HVAC sizing should use a recognised load method such as ASHRAE heat-balance/RTS or ACCA Manual J and include humidity, orientation, glazing SHGC, schedules, infiltration, duct gains and local design weather.
