Construction of AAAC 150 (WOLF EQUIVALENT)

AAAC 150 (WOLF EQUIVALENT) is built as 19/3.15 mm alloy. All-aluminium alloy (Al-Mg-Si, 6201 type) stranded conductor. With no steel core the whole cross-section conducts, giving the lowest resistance per mm² of any of the families, at the cost of breaking load. The total metallic area of 148.10 mm² and overall diameter of 15.75 mm set both the resistance and the wind/ice loading the structures must carry.

  • Wind is the single biggest variable. Removing it drops the rating of AAAC 150 (WOLF EQUIVALENT) from 352 A to 189 A in the cases above.
